Ted became a close friend to a succession of American Commanders of Operation Deepfreeze - and this later led him south on three trips to Antarctica.  A book full of stories about rods, rifles, New Zealands' back country, a woman's side of high country life, set around the mountains of the Canterbury high country, under the nor'west arch.
